"Back to the Beginning"
On August 4 – 6, 2017, the many descendants of the Barefield’s/Barfield’s, Clay’s, Claypool’s, Henderson’s, McClelland’s, and Woolfolk’s will descend upon St. Louis, MO for our 19th biennial gathering in the “Show Me State”, to show them how we celebrate family.
Your Chair this year is Anthony B. Curtis, Jr. representing the Barefield Branch and your Co-Chair is Deborah Davis representing the McClelland Branch. The seeds of this great tree that were planted in Grand Chain, IL have blossomed into a magnificent exemplification of love, life, and family. This year’s theme is “Back to the Beginning”, which is befitting as the St. Louis area was home to our first reunion back in 1981.
The St. Louis committee and family members are excited about hosting the reunion in the Gateway City. St. Louis is rich in history, culture, and diversity and has undergone quite the transformation in recent years. From the remodeled grounds around the Gateway Arch, World Famous St. Louis Zoo, Washington Street Entertainment District, National Blues Museum, The Famous Sweetie Pies and much more, the city boasts a host of attractions for all ages. For more information regarding what St. Louis has to offer please visit www.explorestlouis.com.
The 2017 Committee is honored to host you. We are committed to ensuring that this reunion is a continuation of the excellence you are accustomed to. Our creative and forward thinking committee chairs are making extraordinary plans . . . for extraordinary people . . . to visit an extraordinary place. We are working diligently to come up with an itinerary that ALL will enjoy. Use this website not only to register for the reunion, but as a platform to interact with the family and to share your ideas with the committee.
In the words of the famous 19th century architect Daniel Burnham, “Make no little plans; they have no magic…Make big plans”. That’s what we have done and that’s why you must MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS!!!!!
